The natural vocation of our center is supporting research and education besides providing care on Craniofacial Anomalies.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">The interdisciplinary team of <strong>HRAC-USP<\/strong> spreads and generates new knowledge on craniofacial anomalies with the goal to benefit patients in all the country and outside. The Hospital provides multidisciplinary care to patients with cleft lip and palate and related craniofacial anomalies besides patients with audiological deficiencies. With time, <strong>HRAC-USP<\/strong> became a World-Class Center for the research and treatment of the above mentioned anomalies. In front of the acquired experience in patient care, the team professionals with a solid academic education have started producing research and teaching on Craniofacial Anomalies attending the three main goals of the University: Research, Education and Extension.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Regarding Education, the <strong>HRAC-USP<\/strong> started to systematically offer Specialization courses and Residences in 1996. All the specialization courses are free of tuition and have the goal to form specialized professionals evolved in the multidisciplinary care of craniofacial anomalies: Physicians, Dentists, Speech Pathologists and Audiologists, Nurses, Psychologists, Physiotherapists, Nutritionists and Social Workers.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">In 1998, the Hospital started offering Master and Doctoral Post graduation Programs in Sciences approved by the Brazilian Ministry of Education (CAPES) and by the Post graduation Counsel of the University of S\u00e3o Paulo. In 2003, the name of the program became Post Graduation Program in Sciences of Rehabilitation. In 2006, a unique area of concentration called Orofacial Clefts and related Anomalies embraced the mission of the <strong>HRAC-USP<\/strong>.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">It is important to highlight that the research and education programs determined that the institution was recognized as a Hospital for Education by the Ministry of Education and Health. In other national and international educational institutions, the cleft lip and palate is studied in disciplinary programs as Plastic Surgery, Dentistry or Speech Pathology. Our Post Graduation program includes all these fields aggregating also Genetics, Physiology, Psychology and Physiotherapy.
