OBJETIVOS:

Analisar criticamente o impacto das fissuras orofaciais sobre funções associadas às vias aéreas superiores, particularmente, a respiração e a fala, e, os efeitos das cirurgias corretoras primárias e secundárias. Apresentar e discutir os avanços no diagnóstico instrumental dos distúrbios associados às fissuras orofaciais. 

 

JUSTIFICATIVA:

As fissuras orofaciais estão associadas à diferentes distúrbios funcionais, que incluem os de respiração e fala, de modo que seu estudo é de fundamental importância para a formação dos alunos do programa. Além disso, os pacientes são submetidos a tratamentos cirúrgicos que levam à reabilitação do ponto de vista estético, mas que podem comprometer aquelas funções, de modo que se torna relevante analisar os benefícios e prejuízos associados às diferentes modalidades de tratamento. 

 

CONTEÚDO:

1) Anatomia funcional das vias aéreas 
2) As vias aéreas superiores na respiração e na fala 
3) A respiração e a fala nas fissuras orofaciais: a obstrução nasal, a disfunção velofaríngea, a apneia obstrutiva do sono, as deformidades dentoesqueléticas, a sequência de Robin e outras anomalias que cursam com as fissuras  
4) Métodos instrumentais de avaliação funcional das vias aéreas superiores: nasoendoscopia, videofluoroscopia, rinomanometria (técnica fluxo-pressão), rinometria acústica, nasometria, polissonografia, tomografia computadorizada de feixe cônico e fluidodinâmica computacional
